How to care for your hair correctly? What do you need to know and follow to keep your hair beautiful and happy with its healthy appearance and amazing shine? Let's try to understand these issues in detail..

Basic Rules

Basic simple rules to follow when caring for your hair:

  • It is necessary to wash your hair when it gets dirty. Usually 1-3 times a week (this varies individually)
  • use shampoo for your hair type, and not from the series "for all types"
  • while washing don't forget to massage your head- this will improve blood flow and nutrition of the hair roots
  • rinse the shampoo with cool water- this will give them shine
  • do not hold the hair dryer close to your hair, and staying in one place for a long time can dry out your hair, making it brittle
  • comb your hair often. It is advisable to do this with a thick wooden comb or massage brush - this improves blood circulation
  • don't forget about proper nutrition , promoting the health of not only the whole body, but also the hair
  • use nourishing hair masks to maintain healthy hair. It can be as expensive professional products for hair care, and proven over centuries folk remedies, which often turn out to be no less effective
  • choose your hair coloring products carefully. A low-quality coloring product can ruin all your hair care efforts.

Shampoo.
How to choose the right shampoo.

If you choose a new shampoo, then carefully read the instructions for the shampoo, study its composition and recommendations for the type of hair for which the shampoo is intended. It is better to choose a shampoo based on natural ingredients recommended specifically for your hair type.

If the shampoo is chosen correctly, then as a result of its use:

  • hair, even after the first use, is washed well and becomes clean
  • there are no signs of oil on the hair
  • hair should have a healthy shine after drying
  • strands comb well and are manageable
  • There is no irritation or itching on the scalp

How to wash your hair correctly

The shampoo has been selected, let's start washing your hair.

The safe process of washing your hair is a whole ritual, with its own rules and subtleties.

Hair preparation

Before washing your hair, you should prepare your hair, protecting it from the harmful effects of detergents. No matter how good the shampoo is, it will still cause, albeit minor, harm, washing away the natural lipids that hold the scales of the outer layer of hair (cuticle) together. It is especially important to do this for owners of dry, damaged, wavy and curly hair.

You can protect your hair before washing with the help of products that are suitable for your hair type. The oil should be applied 5-7 minutes before washing your hair, so that it covers the hair with a film and protects it while washing your hair.

If you don’t have time to apply oil before washing your hair, then it is better to apply shampoo only to the scalp in the area of the hair roots. Massage and rinse the hair roots, and the resulting foam with soapy water will help rinse the remaining length of the hair.

Washing process

7 minutes after applying the oil, you need to thoroughly wet your hair with water along the entire length and apply a little shampoo. Massage your scalp well and then your hair. Move from the roots of your hair to their ends. Do not use a large number of shampoo, there should be just enough to wash away dirt and excess oil.

Next, thoroughly rinse off the shampoo for 5-6 minutes with warm water. The last rinse is best done with slightly cool water. It is important to thoroughly rinse off all remaining shampoo. If particles of shampoo remain on the hair, then the surfactants contained in the shampoo will destroy the lipid layer of the hair, making it brittle and dry.

Drying your hair correctly

After the hair is completely washed and becomes clean and pleasant to the touch, you need to dry it.

This process also requires attention. So, a hard towel, sudden or excessively intense movements while drying your head can cause damage to your hair. Excessive friction loosens the scales of the outer layer of hair, which, when washing your hair with shampoo, have already opened up and have not yet returned to their original position. As a result of improper drying of hair, the strands become dull, brittle, the hair breaks easily, sticks out in different directions, does not fit well, and the ends constantly split.

To avoid similar problems You should dry your hair carefully. After washing your hair, gently pat your hair dry with a soft, water-absorbing towel. It is best to wrap your hair with it and leave it for a few minutes so that the moisture is absorbed into the fabric. For long hair, this may take 20 - 30 minutes.

After excess water has been absorbed from the hair into the fabric of the towel, you can remove it and let your hair dry completely.

Use a hair dryer only when extreme cases, unless you are very limited in time and need to wash your hair urgently. In other cases, it is better to let the hair dry on its own.

Combing hair

After the hair has dried, you need to comb carefully.

It is not advisable to comb wet hair . When hair fibers fill with moisture, they stretch and become weaker. When combing, stretched hair becomes damaged and breaks faster.

First of all, you need to choose the right comb. A wide-toothed wooden comb or a soft massage brush is ideal. Also pay attention to how the edges of the teeth are processed, as well as the places at their base. Rough processing with sharp edges may damage the scalp, hair structure or cause hair to be pulled out.

A good comb, comb or hair massage brush, there should be smooth polished teeth and the same spaces between them. The tips of the teeth should be rounded and not spear-like. You can purchase two products at once and use them alternately.

Short hair combed from roots to tips, and long ones, on the contrary, from tips to roots. If you are confused curly hair, divide them into separate strands and comb each separately.

When combing long hair, it is necessary to alternate movements of the comb with stroking the hair with the palm of your free hand. Of course, your hands must be washed first. One movement with the comb, and then a second with the palm.

You can stroke your hair for a few minutes even if it has already been combed. This distributes sebum along the entire length of the hair, making it shiny, elastic and strong.

That's it, the hair is washed, dried, detangled and combed. And you need to take care of them daily, and not occasionally or when you have time.

Additional hair care

Unfortunately, it is not enough to simply keep your hair clean and in good condition. In our modern world, we are surrounded by a lot of negative factors that do not have the best effect, including on hair. Among the unfavorable factors, the most common ones can be identified:

  • improper and inadequate nutrition, which does not allow the body to form healthy and beautiful hair. To build hair, the body first of all needs high-quality protein and, of which, first of all, sulfur.
  • unfavorable environmental conditions
  • unfavorable environment the modern world and especially modern cities. In big cities there is too much transport, the emissions of which saturate the atmosphere of the city. And they contain heavy metals and toxic elements. And all this settles on our hair, destroying it.
  • hair coloring. Many people can't do without it. No matter how expensive the dye is, the chemicals contained in it destroy the hair structure.

Therefore, in addition to the hair cleansing ritual, our hair often needs some extra help. And we have to resort to cosmetic procedures and various nutritional formulations that help maintain healthy and beautiful hair. The most significant help for hair can be provided in two ways:

  • Proper and nutritious nutrition. If this doesn’t work out, then you can resort to vitamins and mineral complexes, drinking them in courses.

This effective method, but it is mainly aimed not at restoring existing hair, but at the future, that is, the newly grown hair will be healthy and strong.

  • If the hair is already damaged, then it is necessary to resort to nourishing masks and specialized cosmetics.

It is better to use both methods simultaneously, as part of a complex of hair care measures.

Shiny thick hair always looks beautiful and is rightfully considered the standard of health and beauty. How to properly care for your curls, what cosmetics to use? Proper care will help you achieve your ideal.

Hair care rules

There are three basic rules for hair care at home:

How to wash your hair

First, you need to wash your hair properly. Comb your hair well with a massage comb or comb before washing it. At the same time, blood circulation in the scalp increases, and dead skin cells are washed out more easily. Then you should completely wet your hair with water at a temperature of up to 35 degrees Celsius. Apply a small amount of shampoo to your palm, diluting it with water, and distribute it along the hair. Using light massage movements, rub the shampoo into the scalp. Next, you need to rinse off the soap suds with plenty of water. Repeat the procedure of applying and rinsing shampoos to completely remove impurities from your hair. Use the balm according to the instructions to give your hair healthy and beautiful appearance. After washing, you need to pat your hair dry with a towel, do not rub it between your palms, this has a negative effect on the hair structure, which is why the hair splits and breaks.

Combing

Secondly, you need to comb your hair correctly. Gather long hair into a ponytail and start combing from the ends, then proceed to combing the roots. Short hair, on the contrary, is better to comb first from the roots, moving towards the ends. You should not comb wet hair, as it will be very damaged. Wait until they dry a little, first wrap them in a towel in the form of a turban, then comb your hair using a spray that makes it easier to comb your hair or other similar products.

Gentle drying

Thirdly, you need to dry your hair carefully. The most ideal option to preserve the beauty and health of your hair is to dry it naturally. But there is not always time for this. Yes, and you can create curls or create volume only with the use of a hair dryer, curling iron or other hair styling devices. Blow dry your hair while applying heat protectants to your hair. This cosmetic product will protect your curls from the harmful high temperatures of tongs, hair dryers or curlers.

Remember that when creating a hairstyle using a hairdryer, it must be kept at a distance of at least twenty centimeters from the head.

How to care for dry hair

Hair becomes dry due to frequent hair washing, exposure to high temperatures or due to health conditions. For dry hair, gentle care is recommended. Washing dry hair should be done using a mild shampoo for damaged and dry hair, restoring the structure of such hair. damaged hair, moisturizes and nourishes them, protects them from overdrying. Moisturizing aerosols will help replenish moisture in your hair. You can use hair moisturizing spray "and Aloe", Collection Polynesie from Faberlic, Bonacure Moisture Kick from Schwarzkopf.

To solve the problem of dry hair, folk methods will also help:

Peppermint infusion

Prepare a peppermint infusion. To do this, pour two tablespoons of dried mint with one glass of boiling water. Leave for 30 minutes to infuse. Rinse your hair with mint infusion after washing. Mint activates the sebaceous glands, while the hair receives the required dose of natural sebum.

Burdock and olive oils

Mix burdock and olive oil, then apply this mixture evenly to your hair before shampooing. Wrap your hair in a plastic bag and a towel, creating a warming effect. After waiting 40 minutes, the oil mixture must be washed off the hair with shampoo.

How to care for oily hair

Because of not proper care behind the hair and disruption of the sebaceous glands, hair becomes greasy. To reduce oily hair, you need to:

  • Eat right (exclude sweets from your diet).
  • Take a vitamin complex that includes vitamin E and B vitamins.
  • We do not recommend using masks and all kinds of balms, gels and oils that weigh down already oily hair.
  • Frequent combing of hair and the influence of elevated temperatures cause greater activity of the sebaceous glands of the head.
  • Choose correctly cosmetical tools for hair that is prone to oiliness. Use shampoos for oily hair and rinse it with degreasing products, for example, one of these products is a water-vinegar solution per 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar for 1 liter of water.

Yolk mask

The medicinal yolk mask helps well with the problem of oiliness. Mix 1 teaspoon of alcohol with 1 raw yolk and 1 teaspoon of water. You need to rub this mixture into the skin of your washed head. Wait for 10 minutes for the mask to start working, then rinse off the mixture without massaging your scalp too much. Egg yolk suppresses excess sebum production, and alcohol degreases the scalp and hair, making it less shiny.

Anti-oily hair products

There are also ready-made products against oily hair:

  • Care Line lotion of the Keune brand (Netherlands) for oily skin heads.
  • Lotion K05 from the KAARAL brand (Italy) to restore the balance of the secretion of the sebaceous glands.
  • Mask from the Norgil brand (France), regulating the secretion of the sebaceous glands, etc.

How to properly care for your hair so it grows better

It is impossible to significantly increase the growth rate of your hair. In humans, the rate of hair growth is genetically determined; even the world’s scientists cannot yet increase it.

However, it is important to know that due to certain factors, hair growth may slow down. Let's look at all the factors that negatively affect the ability of hair to grow as quickly as possible.

Vitamins

The main reason that slows down healthy hair growth is the lack of favorable conditions for growth. Firstly, it is a lack of important vitamins in your body. Vitamin A, C and E, B vitamins can collectively stimulate hair growth.

  • Vitamin B1 (thiamine or aneurin) stimulates hair growth, prevents hair fragility and loss of natural shine. Thiamine is found in plant foods: peas, soybeans, spinach, as well as wheat bread made from wholemeal flour.
  • Riboflavin (vitamin B2) improves blood circulation in the scalp and generally has an impact on the overall health of hair. When hair roots become oily quickly, but their ends remain dry, there is clearly a lack of vitamin B2 in the human body. Sources of riboflavin are yeast, mushrooms, broccoli liver, almonds, cottage cheese and other dairy products, etc.
  • Vitamin B3 or nicotinic acid (niacin) improves the supply of oxygen to the hair follicles, thereby stimulating hair growth. Premature gray hair is a sign of nicotinic acid deficiency in the human body, since it is this substance that is responsible for creating pigment in the hair. A large amount of vitamin B3 is found in beef.
  • Provitamin B5 (pantothenic acid or D-panthenol) smoothes the surface of the hair shaft, promotes the formation of a protective film, which protects hair from moisture loss at high temperatures during the hot season and when exposed to a hair dryer.
  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) protects against dryness and dandruff, flaking of the scalp, and resulting burning, itching and other unpleasant sensations. This vitamin is found in wheat, buckwheat and rice, bananas, carrots, avocados, corn, soybeans, potatoes and other products.
  • Vitamin B7 (biotin or vitamin H) gives hair healthy shine, and curls with firmness and elasticity, also prevents hair loss in men. Biotin is found in beans, wheat bran, liver, cauliflower, tomato, spinach, peanuts, and boiled egg yolk.
  • Vitamin A (beta-carotene) reduces excessive secretion of sebaceous glands, prevents hair loss, and prevents fragility. In combination with vitamin E, the positive effect on the hair structure is enhanced; the latter vitamin has a beneficial effect on the nutrition of hair follicles. Sources of vitamin A: butter, sour cream, fish oil and caviar, and vitamin E is found in leafy greens, vegetable oil, tomatoes, soybeans, whole grains, etc.

Many modern pharmaceutical companies offer complexes of vitamins and minerals that are necessary for hair growth. For example, these are Fitoval, Nutrival, Multitabs B-complex + AEvit.

Healthy lifestyle

The condition of the human body as a whole also affects hair growth. Stress, poor diet, alcohol consumption, and smoking negatively affect hair growth and its overall condition. So change your lifestyle to a healthy one and it will certainly affect your hair and your overall well-being.

Massage

Massaging the scalp will help increase blood circulation in the skin, which stimulates its growth. This technique is easy to implement. Before washing your hair, you should use small circular movements massage the scalp with your fingertips for about 5-7 minutes.

Before massage, hands can be lubricated with essential oils, such as rosemary, cedar, coriander, tea tree, cypress or mint. This will enhance the effect and improve glide.

Leave-in ready-made serums for stimulating hair growth are also suitable for this purpose, for example, burdock serum from TM “Elfa” or serum from TM “Bielita” of the Vitamin PRO series.

After a massage, an excess amount of sebaceous fat is produced, for this reason it is better to massage with leave-in serums before bed, so that you can wash your hair with shampoo in the morning. If you used essential oils, immediately after the massage procedure, you can wash your hair with shampoo, but trichologists (specialists who treat hair) recommend keeping the mask from the medicinal essential oil for about an hour, wrapping the hair in a bag and a towel to create a warming effect, which has a beneficial effect on the hair’s ability to absorb the necessary nutrients.

Another factor that interferes healthy growth hair is incorrect hair care. If you have dyed or highlighted hair, then it needs special care.

How to care for highlighted hair

Dyed, highlighted and colored hair has a structure that needs to be strengthened and restored.

Care products

Masks and balms marked “For highlighted hair” will help you with this.

To maintain shine and color saturation, it is recommended to wash such hair with a special shampoo designed for highlighted hair:

  • Lifetex Color protection shampoo from Wella;
  • Shampoo-shine Lumino Contrast from L’Oreal for highlighted hair;
  • Illumi Lights from Schwarzkopf.

Folk remedies

Traditional medicine also has its own recipes for partially or fully colored hair.

Fruit mask

Make a fruit mask for highlighted hair. You need to mix kiwi pulp and grapefruit juice, add a little honey. The ratio of ingredients is determined by the length of the hair. Apply the fruit mixture over the entire length of your hair and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water. This mask contains fruit acids, strengthening your hair and neutralizing the alkali remaining after dyeing.

Egg yolk and beer mask

But a mask made from egg yolk and beer will help restore shine and softness to your highlighted hair. You need to mix half a glass of warm light beer with one egg yolk. Apply the resulting liquid to washed hair and scalp. Wrap your hair in a plastic bag and a towel for about 40 minutes. Rinse your hair with warm water without using shampoo. The aroma of beer will disappear in a few hours, and after that the hair will be silky to the touch and shiny in appearance.

If you are afraid that the smell of beer will not disappear for a long time, then it is better to make such a hair mask on a day off when you can stay at home.

How to care for hair extensions

Hair extensions must be taken care of delicately and carefully in order to increase their wear time.

Tips from hairdressers for caring for hair extensions are as follows:

Combing

You need to comb your strands with a special comb with bristles or with silicone teeth without balls at the ends.

You cannot use combs or ordinary massage combs with metal teeth to comb hair extensions, as they destroy the capsules that glue the natural hairs to the extensions. In addition, such combs contribute to the formation of microcracks in the hair, which cause hair loss.

You need to comb your hair from the middle of the hair length to its ends, while collecting the hair in a ponytail with your hand, then move on to the roots.

When combing your hair, make sure that the strands do not get tangled with each other at the joints; they will be more difficult to detach during correction. Do not catch the adhesions!

The washing up

When washing your hair extensions, do not tip them over and do not tilt your head forward. The best way to wash your hair is while sitting in the bathtub or standing in the shower. As a shampoo, professionals recommend using a non-concentrated shampoo with a neutral pH balance for normal hair, since a shampoo intended for oily hair will dry out the extensions, while for dry hair it will soften them, which will lead to their combing out. In such a situation, a special mild shampoo for such hair, for example, Keune Hair Extensions from Shampoo.

Balms, lotions, masks

Using balms, masks and other similar hair care products on the hair roots or rubbing them into the area where the adhesions are located is strictly prohibited, as they can destroy the glue that holds the hair extensions to yours. Various lotions, balms and other products can only be used on the ends of the hair; distribute them evenly over the entire length.

How to dry?

It is not recommended to dry your hair extensions with a hot hair dryer, but if you need to dry your hair quickly, you can set the hair dryer to a cold setting. In general, minimize the use of hair dryers, irons, curling irons and other thermal devices, and in hot summer days Don't forget about heat protective hair products.

How to sleep?

At night to avoid tangled hair, braid your hair in one or two braids.

How to care for hair after perm

Each perm, including the “gentle” one (this is one of the types of perm), damages the hair structure to one degree or another, so such hair should be cared for especially carefully.

It is important to know that perming dries out your hair, and if you have dry hair, then you are completely prohibited from this procedure, carried out using chemicals. Otherwise, it will be extremely difficult to restore a healthy appearance to your hair.

It must be said that on the day of curling, as well as in the next 3 days, you should not wash or style your hair with a hairdryer, because after aggressive exposure it becomes sensitive to the components of the shampoo and high temperatures. Chemical processes continue to occur for several more days, and no one knows what reaction may occur in the end.

Recovery

To restore damaged areas of hair, after each hair wash, use restorative and moisturizing rinses and balms that are intended for hair after perm. Such cosmetics should be applied every time after washing your hair, nourishing masks do it once a week. The emphasis should be on the ends of the hair, since they suffer the most after a perm.

Laying

To style your hair, you can use gels, foams, fluids with medicinal properties, but only for curly hair, because fixing agents intended for straight hair help straighten curls, as they make them heavier. Natural substances can be used as styling products. This could be lemon juice, beer, bread kvass or flaxseed infusion. You can dye your hair only 2-3 weeks after curling. Hair can be seriously damaged if this rule is not followed.

Combing

Use non-metallic, wide-toothed combs to comb your hair.

Girls, hello, my dears!

In today’s article, I have collected for you all the “delicious” things from my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

How to care for your hair so that it is healthy and beautiful, well-groomed and looks like Luxurious Beauty! ☺

I described everything that I consider necessary to pay attention to and “must be followed” if you really, really want the condition of your hair to please our eyes every day!

And for us girls, this is SO important, right?

From this article you will learn:

How to care for your hair to keep it healthy and beautiful?

Of course, any issue must be approached COMPREHENSIVELY, as they say, “attack” from all sides

Then the result will be completely different than “take something like that out of context...”, try to do it, not see the result after a couple of such attempts, abandon everything, and say: “Well, well... it doesn’t work!” ...

It works, HOW it works, girls!☺

You just need to do it RIGHT:

  1. approach the issue comprehensively, as they say, both from the outside and from the inside,
  2. try different options,
  3. see what can be improved
  4. adjust not YOURSELF to the recommendation, but the RECOMMENDATION – “to suit you”

We are all different, we (all!) have different “initial data”: different preferences, different hair condition, hair type, different state of health, which is very important!

Therefore, you yourself will have to choose, experiment, give up something in the process, understanding that it is NOT yours... But something (what gives results) - leave and continue to use it!

And to the skeptics who say that their hair “naturally” is not wow, and that nothing can be done about it, I will say: “If you do, you will do it!”

Yes, genes are genes and, as they say, you can’t “trample” against nature

And you won’t be able to COMPLETELY change your hair (well, maybe do extensions...). But to qualitatively IMPROVE their condition, even SIGNIFICANTLY qualitatively improve - it’s quite possible, girls, quite!

Inspired? I think so!☺

What do you need to keep your hair always healthy and beautiful?

They need to be properly CAREED!!!

And this means:

  1. Cleanse your hair properly.
  2. Properly moisturize and nourish them.
  3. Strengthen and heal hair with massage.
  4. Cut your hair correctly.
  5. Paint them correctly.
  6. Properly protect and style your hair.
  7. Eat healthy food, one that will contribute to the beauty of your hair.
  8. Take additional “superfood supplements” for Beauty and Hair Growth.
  9. Move actively and exercise.
  10. Think correctly (positively).

That’s basically all... In my opinion, not so much, huh?...

And for those who are immediately “soured” by so much that will need to be done, I’ll say right away - it’s WORTH IT!!! And you decide for yourself.

Regarding what “right” is, I want to say this: “right” is NOT what I or anyone else says...

“Right” is when something suits YOU, something that is comfortable for you to use and gives the results you want!

I do not claim to be the “ultimate truth”, no! I simply share what is “right” for me, what suits me personally.

And you try and decide whether this is right for you, whether this will be EXACTLY “right” for YOU and will give results!

Proper cleansing or washing of hair

It seems like, what’s so and so? I chose a shampoo according to my hair type and that’s it, I washed it for my health, what’s so complicated about that?

And I used to think so... Until I realized that “choosing a shampoo according to your hair type” is not everything...

Moreover, I’ll tell you, girls, this: WHAT shampoo is not the most important thing in hair care AT ALL! Well, in general, shampoo will not be in first or even second place!

The main thing is that it BE and does NOT harm your hair!!!

1) Shampoo

The purpose of shampoo is to cleanse effectively, nothing more.

To enhance the effect, you can enrich it with essential oils; they are absorbed instantly and have a certain effect immediately.

And there is no point in any other nutritional components.

Firstly, the contact time between shampoo and hair is too short. So that these nutritional components work well.

And, secondly, for these nutritional components to work, they must be applied AFTER washing, to clean hair.

As I like to say in this case, “you must first WASH the plate, and only then put on a new portion of food,” otherwise it will turn out to be nonsense...

2) Salt peeling

This is a very, very, very important point in properly cleansing your hair and scalp, girls! I attach very great importance to this moment.

This is as important as cleansing your face and body with a scrub.

Clogged pores, skin covered with a layer of sebum, dust and other secretions, does not “breathe”, suffers, and looks bad.

And she cannot, with all her desire, absorb everything that we apply to her in the form of masks and creams, wanting to improve her condition... Right? And hair and scalp are the same!

3) Water temperature

Only warm water is suitable for washing your hair, and not hot!

Often those who have oily hair, trying to get rid of the annoying “to hell” oiliness of their hair, try to thoroughly wash their hair until it is “squeaky clean” and wash it with too hot water, thereby doing a “disservice” to their hair.

This doesn't make your hair any less oily!

The next day - the same thing again... Just like you didn’t wash it...

4) How often should you wash your hair?

Read more about this

5) Enrichment of shampoos

The composition of any shampoo can be improved by enriching it with a few drops of high-quality essential oils (if you are not allergic to them).

Choose any that suit your hair type and will meet your needs.

To do this, you just need to study the properties and effects of various esters on hair.

I wrote more about essential oils for hair in this

6) Final rinse of hair.

It will be simply wonderful if you make it a rule, after each wash of your hair, to rinse it with herbal infusion or do an aroma rinse!

For more information about herbs for hair, see.

This will perfectly strengthen, revitalize, heal your hair and add even more Luxurious Beauty to it!

Old “grandmother’s” advice: the last water for the final rinse of hair should be cool-cold. In this way, we will help to “close” the hair “scales”, and the hair will look smoother and healthier, and will be less damaged when combing.

7) My favorite “trick” every time I wash my hair.

I wash my hair not under running water, standing in the shower, but after it, over the bathtub, tilting my head down.

This helps improve blood circulation in the scalp, blood flows better to the hair follicles, which means the hair becomes stronger and healthier. That's one thing.

And secondly, before every wash, I always massage my scalp, at least a little.

And then while washing I actively continue to massage the skin.

Necessarily! As a result, a few minutes of massage BEFORE and DURING washing your hair give a simply WONDERFUL effect, girls!

Proper hydration and nutrition of hair

After washing your hair, you must moisturize and nourish it.

For this we will need conditioners, masks and special hair tonics.

1) Conditioner.

This is the first step after washing your hair. It, like shampoo, would also be good to enrich with essential oils, if they are not included in the balm.

The most universal and most “working” for hair are lavender, rose, neroli, ylang-ylang. Mint (for those who want freshness and those with oily hair), tea tree (for dandruff).

It is also very welcome to add to balms.

They will also nourish the hair, since the balm still contacts the hair longer than shampoo, so it must be “given a chance” to work even more effectively for the Beauty of our Hair

A trick that I personally use, and which, by the way, is recommended by many experienced hairdressers: keep the balm on your hair not for a few minutes, as is usually written in the instructions, but for half an hour (ideally), or at least 15 minutes! If you have time, of course...

And then our balm (to which we previously “added oil”) will work like a hair mask!

2) Hair mask

It can be either homemade, home-made, or “from a tube.” Not always and not everyone has time to tinker with natural masks, I understand…

Besides, now it's like this huge selection excellent, natural and perfectly “working” masks that many people don’t want to “bother with”...

Personally, I combine: I use both store-bought and . And I like the effect!

I would like to address your Special attention for hair masks with keratin. This substance is very important for the beauty and health of hair! Shampoos and conditioners are also enriched with keratin.

It can also be purchased separately in special online stores. And then use it yourself, adding it to your homemade hair masks! A hairdresser friend recommended this to me. I'll have to try, I still can't get my hands on it...

3) Hair tonics

They are intended for hair and scalp. Great stuff, girls! Highly, highly recommended!

They are made on the basis of some kind of hydrosol, enriched, as a rule, with herbal extracts, essential oils, etc.

Tonics moisturize curls just super!

Moreover, their active components strengthen hair follicles, stimulate blood circulation in the scalp, thereby reducing hair loss and activating hair growth.

There are also components that protect hair from harmful effects. environment, and so on…

The compositions of such products are very different, and you can always choose for yourself exactly the tonic that will meet your needs!

Using tonics for hair and scalp is super easy: the bottle is usually equipped with a special sprayer, which is very convenient! Another convenience is that you can always take the tonic with you. A bottle of tonic is usually no more than 100 ml. and can easily fit even into a small woman's purse!

What I have noticed when using hair toners is that my hair stays fresh and shiny for much longer.

In my opinion, an excellent result! Especially important in the summer heat, don’t you think?

Large selection of natural hair tonics, you can find Here

1) Hair protection products

Their use is a must! Fortunately, the choice is now wide, and every girl can choose the product she needs.

Personally, immediately after washing, rinsing and toning my hair, I always apply a special fluid oil to my hair. It can be applied only to the ends, or to the entire length of the hair, if desired.

It contains a lot of natural oils and other natural plant components.

The principle of “working” of the fluid oil is to envelop each hair with the thinnest invisible film, which will protect the hair from various damages (mechanical - during styling and combing, thermal - when the hair is exposed to hot hair dryers, curling irons).

This fluid oil is also designed to protect hair from solar radiation.

An invisible oil film prevents moisture loss, so hair can remain moisturized, and therefore fresher and more beautiful, much longer!

When applied to the hair, this oil does not interfere with the access of air, the hair “breathes” and is able to function perfectly.

Moreover, the excellent ingredients included in it natural oils wonderfully nourish hair, and it becomes vibrant, shiny, strong, elastic, less brittle, which will help it grow much faster long hair, if you have such a task!

Oils perfectly nourish the ends of the hair and restore their structure, protecting against further delamination. When I started using this fluid oil, I noticed that my ends were now much less split!

In addition, this product is very, very economical; you only need a little bit of it to distribute throughout your hair! And for use only on the ends of the hair - even less...

N.B.! When applying any hair protection products (especially oil-based), it is important not to “overdo” the amount, otherwise the hair will not look clean...

2) Styling products.

Good hair styling products contain various hair-protecting ingredients.

A VERY good means– they also do not seriously harm the hair, because their composition is as much as possible “freed” from the most terrible chemical components (which, by the way, harm the hair in the most “brazen” way, worsening its condition simply terribly!).

So it's best to choose more natural, organic hair styling products. You can easily find them in any online store of natural organic cosmetics.

For those who really, really don’t accept anything like that, we can, of course, advise styling their hair with beer. And what? Vintage and 100% natural way, which our grandmothers and great-grandmothers used

I once tried styling my hair with beer as an experiment. The styling is simply reinforced concrete! But I don’t need this effect, besides, I don’t like this feeling on my hair, so I don’t do it anymore...

3) Gadgets for hair styling.

These are all kinds of special hair dryers, straightening irons, curling irons, cones, etc.

Very good ones are equipped with all sorts of additional features that are designed to carefully protect the hair from the destructive effects of styling, and, in addition, they also improve the appearance and health of the hair!

This is a very broad topic, and I will not go into it now.

I can simply advise you to study this issue, take an interest in all the new products and achievements of the industry in this area. Believe me, there are so many interesting things there now!

Perhaps you, like me, will also be pleasantly surprised by how many wonderful “things” for hair styling are offered today!

But remember that any device for drying and styling hair (even a super-modern one), at least a little, still spoils the structure of the hair, dries the hair, makes it duller, brittle, etc.

So it's best, of course, to minimize blow-drying and styling with cones and flat irons as much as possible.

1) How to dye your hair?

Any hair dye, even the most super-duper-natural one, still worsens the quality of the hair and spoils its structure.

Because it cannot be that the composition of a paint that is positioned as a permanent dye (and not a hair tone), will not wash off for a long time, and which will cover gray hair 100%, contains EXCLUSIVELY NATURAL components.

There may be few of them. They may not be too aggressive, yes. But they will still be there.

The exception is henna. It is completely natural. But it still doesn’t cover gray hair completely. Especially when gray hair not “one or two”, but already decently...

And if the first effect is such that the gray hairs seem to have been painted over, then after two or three “washes” of the head, the gray “spangles” again proudly begin to shine in sunlight...

In addition, pure henna (or henna + basma) cannot be used often; it dries out the hair very much and therefore is not suitable for those who already have dry, brittle and damaged hair...

You need to know this. So as not to be upset later.

For many years I exclusively used henna to color my hair.

Then I started using henna-based hair dyes, they are also called Ayurvedic dyes. I really liked it, my hair was smooth, shiny, not dry...

The problem with such dyes is that the choice of shades is not so great... And I’m simply tired of always wearing the same shade of hair year after year...

2) When should you cut your hair?

Well, any girl can tell you when to cut her hair, right?

Of course, on the Waxing Moon! Then they will grow better and faster, and will also be stronger. This has been proven for centuries!

By the way, even if you have long hair, the ends of your hair need to be trimmed regularly! First of all, it will give your hair a more well-groomed and neat appearance overall.

3) Personal hairdresser

It is best to choose one hairdresser for yourself and get your hair cut only by him. In general, your personal hairdresser, like a gynecologist, dentist and cosmetologist, should be permanent!

It will be very good if this person is pleasant to you, if it is easy and comfortable for you to communicate with him.

Who will not only be a master of his craft, but who will also understand you well, your requests, as they say, “without words.”

Who will feel that for you now will be the most the best option. It will be just great if your tastes, preferences and visions regarding hairstyles coincide with him!

These are important points, a lot actually depends on them, and they should be taken into account so that the result after visiting your hairdresser pleases you.

This is from my personal experience)

Scalp massage for luxurious hair

Girls, this is a very, very, very important point in caring for your hair if you want it to be healthy, beautiful and make you happy every day!!!

The massage will strengthen your hair, promote its growth, improve and maintain its good appearance, and help get rid of dandruff.

Moreover, a head massage before hair masks is a guarantee that the result from the mask will be many times better!

A “side bonus” from regular head massage is the disappearance of headaches! And also such a state when they say “cloudy head” - that is, a fuzzy consciousness, the inability to think clearly and concentrate quickly, some kind of sudden “loss” of logical thinking! Checked!

For those who want to quickly grow hair and stop hair loss, regular massage should be like the “Our Father” - you can’t do without it!

You can do massage yourself, you can visit a salon for this purpose - as you wish... But regular, quality massage scalp must BE!

I understand that now everyone’s pace of life is so fast that not everyone has the opportunity to sit down straight and do a targeted massage, devoting a certain amount of time to this activity...

There is an exit! You can successfully “introduce” massage, integrate it into your life, so to speak, “in small batches”, little by little, but more often:

  1. In the first paragraph - “Proper cleansing (washing) of hair” - I talked about my “massage trick” that I use while washing my hair. Here you go, there is already something you can use...
  2. Further: I often massage my scalp when I'm doing something else, something that doesn't require my hands to be present and doesn't require full concentration.

I combine, so to speak... And time is saved, and the job gets done!

Movement, exercise and sports for beautiful hair

Everything is simple here: the more we move (especially in the fresh air), the better our blood circulation, which means the whole body functions many times better!

Hair is a part of the body, which means that everything will be much better with its health and appearance!

Correct (positive) thinking

Yes, my dears, hair also loves to be loved! ☺

And this is not just another “esoteric retreat”, this is how it is! I have tested this on myself many, many times.

You can’t treat your hair “automatically” - wash it, comb it, style it and run... ☺

They REALLY need to be loved! Any manipulations with hair should be done not from the position of “what a horror, I urgently need to wash and comb this nightmare...”, but from the position of “I love you, that’s why I’m taking care of you.”

I think you understand what I mean... ☺

Hair is alive, it is part of the body, and the body really doesn’t like it when it is treated unconsciously. Automatically, it regards this as dislike for itself and gets offended...

Proper nutrition for hair

I wrote a whole article about how important nutrition is for the beauty of our hair.

Alena Yasneva was with you, See you and bye-bye!

Hair is not only one of the attributes of appearance, it is also an indicator of health. To maintain curls in proper condition, regular care is required, which is done both in the salon and at home. There are many nuances in everyday care, the observance of which will provide your hair with shine, add vitality and improve its overall condition.

  1. Environmental conditions worsen the appearance of hair and significantly slow down hair growth.
  2. Poor nutrition and strict diets lead to an acute lack of nutrients, which immediately affects the condition of the hair.
  3. Fungal diseases of the scalp lead to irritation and dandruff.
  4. Aggressive care products perms, coloring, daily styling, which involves the use of elevated temperatures, dry out the hair and damage the hair follicles.
  5. Stress and overwork, more than other factors, lead to hair losing its vitality and shine and beginning to fall out.

If obvious problems with hair are noticed, first of all it is necessary to identify and eliminate the cause, and then begin to resuscitate them. In difficult situations, when home care does not bring visible results, it is worth visiting a hair specialist, trichologist, who, based on the appearance, condition of the scalp and tests, will prescribe appropriate therapy.

Basic principles of home care

Hair receives vital energy from hair follicles, and the cortex determines its strength. The outer layer, or cuticle, is the scales that cover each hair. Dense and even, they make the curls smooth, the damaged cuticle bristles, creating the impression of confusion. The sebaceous glands play a special role in the condition of hair. If sebum is produced in excess, the hair quickly becomes dirty, while insufficient amounts lead to dry hair. Therefore, the basic principles of how to properly care for your hair at home should come down to the following:

  • ensuring blood flow to the hair follicles, which contributes to their better nutrition;
  • restoration of the cortex and cuticle;
  • normalization of the sebaceous glands.

To achieve an effect in all directions, your hair must be cared for correctly at each stage.

Hair care rules

For proper hair care, it is advisable to choose products based on natural ingredients. This is why many women prefer self-prepared masks, rinses, even shampoos. Among the store offers you can also find natural cosmetics, however, it should be taken into account that the price of such funds will be much higher, and it is stored open for no more than six months.

It is better to choose store-bought products, sticking to one cosmetic line, and all of them should suit your hair type, which you cannot always determine on your own. It often happens that with dry, severely split hair, the scalp remains oily. Or, on the contrary, dry scalp and dandruff with excessive greasiness of the hair. Before choosing care products in this case, it is necessary to restore the balance. A consultation with a specialist will help you do this; he will also tell you the reason for this condition and choose the right cosmetics.

Washing head

You need to start caring for your hair with washing. You need to wash your hair as often as necessary, otherwise dirt and sebum clog the pores, blocking the access of oxygen to the hair follicles. It is advisable to choose products for increased greasiness of the scalp or hair that can be used frequently. Many people do not take into account that it is also necessary to wash your hair correctly:

  1. Before washing, be sure to comb your hair so that tangled strands do not become even more tangled.
  2. Hard water has a negative effect on hair, so it is advisable to soften the water by adding a few drops ammonia or a teaspoon of baking soda per approximately 5 liters of liquid.
  3. The water temperature should not exceed 36°C even for oily hair, since hot water only increases the secretion of sebum. The final rinse is carried out with cool water.
  4. Don't go to bed with wet hair: this way they will become tangled, and further combing them will damage the cuticle.
  5. You should not comb wet hair: in this state, it can stretch greatly, which disrupts its structure.

It is not always possible to choose the right shampoo the first time. Dull, highly electric hair immediately after washing indicates that the product is not suitable and needs to be replaced.

Lovers of homemade cosmetics will benefit from such well-known products as egg yolks, honey, and rye bread. These products are time-tested and are perfect for modern beauties. You can enrich your regular shampoo by adding a drop of jojoba, rosemary, cedar or rose essential oil.

Balms and rinses

After washing, you must use a balm, also selected according to your hair type. It provides nutrition and smoothness, easy styling, removes electrification. Proper Use hair balm will give the best results:

  • the balm must match the chosen shampoo;
  • the product is not applied to the roots, it needs to be distributed along the strands from the middle of the hair;
  • Do not apply to hair that is too wet, otherwise the balm will drain along with the water and there will be no effect.

The final stage is using a rinse aid. This care product, as a rule, does not wash off, providing hair with nutrition. Rinse aid, like any other cosmetics, can be purchased at the store, but using a decoction of herbs: chamomile, nettle, burdock root, hop cones and others is much more effective. The recipe for making a rinse is simple: brew a certain amount of the desired herb or mixture of herbs with the specified amount of boiling water, leave and strain.

Another proven remedy that gives hair shine, protects it from oiliness, and retains moisture is lemon juice. To prepare such a rinse aid, 1 tbsp. l. freshly squeezed lemon juice dissolve in a liter of water, wet the hair and scalp well, let it drain a little and dry with a towel.

Using masks

To nourish and moisturize the scalp, smooth hair, eliminate dandruff and other problems, hair masks of a specific direction are used twice a week. You can buy the product in the store, but the most effective are considered to be self-prepared masks from scrap materials. Simple and at the same time effective remedies will help maintain the beauty of your hair:

  1. Excellent results are achieved by masks that contain active ingredients such as nicotinic acid, red pepper tincture, alcohol-containing products, and onions. These products increase blood circulation, which helps nutrients penetrate to the roots and accelerates hair growth.
  2. Oils are also often used in masks. The most popular are olive, castor, and burdock oils. In addition, they apply cosmetic oils– peach, apricot, walnut oil and others.
  3. 15-20 minutes before washing your hair, you can apply slightly warmed kefir to it, rub it into the skin and wrap your head in a towel. Kefir nourishes the skin, eliminates irritation and dandruff, and softens hair.
  4. For a month, castor or burdock oil is rubbed into the scalp, which not only nourishes the hair follicles, but also serves as an excellent growth stimulator and awakens “sleeping” follicles. The oil is washed off an hour after application.

It is more correct to use the selected mask in a course lasting 2-3 months; one application will not produce an effect, as well as frequent changes in composition.

Vitamins for hair

Vitamins play an important role in the condition of hair. Thus, “vitamins of youth” A and E nourish the hair and scalp, smooth the cuticle, give strength and shine. B vitamins promote growth and strengthening and prevent hair loss. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects hair from aging and the scalp from diseases, including fungal diseases.

The amount of vitamins supplied with food is not always sufficient, so you can additionally take vitamin complexes. However, it should be remembered that all medications are best used after consultation with a specialist.

An excellent solution would be vitamin masks using ampoule solutions of the listed vitamins. They are used as independent means, and in combination with other components. You can replace pharmaceutical drugs with products high in these substances.

Drying and styling

As is known, elevated temperatures have a detrimental effect on the condition of the hair. Even the scorching sun can damage your appearance, not to mention a hair dryer or tongs. If you can’t do without a hairdryer, then before styling your hair, be sure to apply a product with heat-protective properties, which envelops the hairs with an invisible film, caring for them and protecting them from drying out.

The styling products used are washed off in the evening. The remaining product will not harm your hair, but the next day it will give your hair a rather sloppy and dull appearance. If for some reason your hair has not been washed, the remaining styling product can be combed out using a fine-tooth comb. This way, the freshness of your hair can be extended for another day.

You need to choose the right comb. Preference is given to wooden combs, which do not allow the hair to become electrified and do not injure the scalp. When carrying out this procedure, you can drop a couple of drops of grapefruit, lemon or eucalyptus essential oil onto your comb. This aromatherapy will smooth out the scales and improve the appearance of the hair.

Combing should begin from the ends, gradually moving up to the roots. If there are tangled strands, you should first untangle them with your hands: do not forget that hair, like skin, is easily injured.

Video: Common mistakes in hair care. How to prevent hair loss and split ends.

  1. At least once every 3 months, the ends of the hair should be cut not only to give shape to the haircut, but also to remove dry ends.
  2. You need to protect your hair not only from the sun, but also from wind and frost. A hat is the main attribute as soon as the thermometer shows sub-zero temperature.
  3. To maintain the beauty of your hair, you cannot do without care products alone. You will have to completely reconsider your diet and lifestyle, including your daily routine, which will allow enough time for sleep.
  4. Modern effective means are considered medicinal serums that are applied to damp hair after washing and are not washed off. Such products combine the effect of a balm, mask and mousse, protecting and moisturizing the hair, smoothing it, giving the hairstyle the desired shape for a long time.

As you can see, caring for your hair at home is quite simple, but it requires time and organization, so many women often neglect the rules. If you put the information received into practice regularly, beautiful and well-groomed hair will soon become business card their owners.
