It is impossible to imagine without its symbol - the Christmas tree. In many countries, it is an integral part of the decor in offices, homes, and on the streets. You won’t see any kind of Christmas trees! They are made from different materials, they are different sizes, but invariably carry a holiday.

DIY mood

Handwork brings satisfaction in itself, and if it is preparation for a holiday, then the pleasure is twice as great. You can make a felt tree with your own hands. Handmade items are an ideal souvenir for your friends. You can even decorate a real Christmas tree with these felt crafts.

When starting work, you should choose a suitable felt Christmas tree pattern for yourself. Using felt fabric for work is very convenient. The edges do not fray, the material is dense, ready product holds its shape well. Both those who are experts in needlework and those who have no skills in manual work enjoy working with felt.

How to make a pattern for a Christmas tree

You can use ready-made patterns Christmas trees made from felt, taken from the Internet, or make them yourself. There's nothing complicated about it. You need to take a sheet of paper, fold it in half and draw one half of the Christmas tree on the sheet. The edge of the folded sheet will be its center.

You need to decide what the branches of the tree will be: sharp or rounded. The felt Christmas tree pattern is drawn from top to bottom. The upper branches have a small span, each subsequent branch below has an increasingly larger size.

The difference in the length of the branches should be approximately the same so that there is not much contrast. You can also adjust the size of the Christmas tree.

The simplest Christmas trees

If you’re short on time and still need to make a few crafts, then you can stop at the simplest felt Christmas tree pattern. To do this, you should draw an equilateral triangle extended upward. One Christmas tree will require two such triangles.

Cut out two pieces from green felt. For the barrel we use brown felt. Two small rectangles sewn together will become the trunk.

Before sewing the parts of the Christmas tree together, the front part needs to be decorated: sew sequins, buttons, ribbons, braid on it, or simply embroider it with colored threads. It will be very difficult to sew them onto a sewn Christmas tree. The wrong side of the Christmas tree should be smooth and beautiful, without threads or knots. When the “face” of the tree is embroidered, you can sew the two parts together, but do not forget to insert a satin loop on top. Triangles need to be folded wrong sides and stitch along the sides. The bottom should be left open, and the craft should be filled with padding polyester through it. There is no need to stuff the product very much; it is enough to create only a small volume.

Between the parts of the Christmas tree at the bottom you need to insert the sewn halves of the trunk and sew all the elements together. The Christmas tree is ready!

Fabric Christmas trees

Patterns for a fabric Christmas tree can be used the same as for felt. Working with fabric has its advantages. Felt has a limited size, but with fabric you can use a width of 1.5 m, and adjust the length as you wish; rolls usually contain about 20 m of fabric. If the tree is voluminous and needs to be filled, then you should use thick fabrics so that the stuffing does not appear.

You can please not only yourself and your friends, but also your baby with a craft. A full-length Christmas tree is amazing! Choose a fabric with a fine pile; Velcro should adhere well to it. Fix the cut out giant Christmas tree on the wall. Make it from felt New Year's toys, sew Velcro on one side. Now the child will be able to decorate the Christmas tree himself, and do it as many times as he wants.

If the tree has already been sewn, and the idea of decorating it came later, then it is better to refrain from sewing decorative elements onto it. In this case, it is better to use hot melt glue and glue the parts. This craft will look neater.

The original beautiful Christmas tree will decorate the festive interior. Of course, you can’t dance around her, but such a miracle will definitely lift your spirits. This interesting tabletop craft can be made from the simplest things that are found in every home.

DIY shabby chic style Christmas tree

Let's make this amazingly beautiful and original craft V fashionable style shabby chic.

Necessary materials.

For the base, take a large paper glass or any plastic container. Separately, dilute alabaster or gypsum with water to the thickness of liquid sour cream and pour it into the future pot. We secure the trunk of our tree, plant the branch in the center and fix it in this position until it hardens.

We make a cone out of cardboard using a stapler.

We make the top of the spruce from wire and foam rubber.

We connect the top to the trunk and attach the cone.

We wrap the base of the tree with white fur.

We cut off the excess from below.

Then we bend the ends of the burlap inward and attach it with hot glue.

Let's get to the fun part - decorating our Christmas tree in shabby chic style.

To create the finished composition we will need a stand.

We make a bench from a bamboo napkin.

From white fur- snowman.

We attach a bell to the top of the spruce.

We decorate the New Year tree with beads, pearls, flowers, lace, etc.

Apply transparent glue to the very top of the tree.

And sprinkle with artificial snow.

We do the same with the bench.

Our composition " Winter's Tale"Ready!

Decorative Christmas tree made from napkins

We will make it from cardboard and single-layer napkins. You will also need beads for decoration.

First of all, let's build a frame for our Christmas tree. We roll a cone out of cardboard, fasten it (I stitched it with thread) and cut off the bottom of the cone exactly so that it can stand.

The base is ready, put it aside for now. Now let's move on to napkins. We will make roses from them. Single-layer plain paper napkins are suitable for us.

Take a napkin and cut it along the folds. Then we fold it in three and cut along the folds again.

We fold the resulting strips in three and cut them again. We got a square equal to 1/9 of a napkin.

We fasten this square in the center with a stapler.

Then cut a circle out of it. Mega-precision and accuracy are not required here at all; the finished rose can be slightly adjusted with scissors.

This way a rose is formed. If the finished rose seems uneven to you, you can trim it with scissors.

The number of such flowers depends on the size of your cardboard cone. My Christmas tree was 21cm high and I needed 59 roses for it.

When all the flowers are ready, we return to the cone. Starting from the top of the head, glue the flowers onto the cone so that the base is not visible. I glued it with hot glue (it’s more convenient for me), but ordinary PVA will do.

I made a Christmas tree out of napkins of two colors. If you also decide to create your own craft from multi-colored roses, then you can safely experiment with alternating them on a cone. If the result does not suit you, you can always tear off the flower and re-glue it to another place. In this case, only the lower layer of the flower will be damaged. We simply tear it off (the bottom layer). The rosette will not lose its appearance.

So, we glued the flowers to the cone. The Christmas tree itself is ready and you can stop at this stage.

I also decorated it with beads - I glued it with the same hot glue, PVA won’t help here.

As you can see, even a beginner can make such beauty, so you can safely involve children in the process.

Christmas tree made of plasticine with candies

What do we all associate with the wonderful New Year holiday? With the smell of pine needles, bright lights, garlands, sweets. And children also create unusual crafts with their own hands, thereby bringing the pleasant moment of a fabulous night closer. They love creativity lessons on this topic most of all. It is in crafts that you can realize any fantasies.

We suggest making an elegant Christmas tree that can be easily decorated with candies. Make a craft from plasticine - the cheapest and most popular material. You will definitely make a beautiful souvenir if you follow our tips - they are not complicated.

To sculpt a Christmas tree with your own hands, prepare:

  • green plasticine for the crown;
  • stump in the form of a cap or an empty spool of thread;
  • toothpick, red and white plasticine for candy.

Select a green block of plasticine from the set. The body of the Christmas tree itself will be made from it, and in the future we will make small candies as toys. Of course, a small souvenir does not have to be green; another color that you choose will do. If you manage to find a set on sale that contains a gold bar, then this option will look rich.

Knead the entire prepared block thoroughly in your hands and prepare it for further work. It is necessary to form a cone-shaped crown, and not quite the usual flat one, but a curved one, similar to the cap of a fairy-tale gnome. Since we are talking about magical holiday, then it is not forbidden to fantasize and create something incredible.

Pull all the soft plasticine into a long cone. Upper part sharpen it as much as possible, press the bottom one around the circumference with your fingers, showing the skirt. Then take and bend the entire structure to the side. Sometimes the Christmas trees do not stretch up perfectly straight, but lean to the side like this.

For modeling Christmas tree decorations– small candies – use white and red plasticine. Form red round tablets (the inner part of the candy), as well as white triangles (the twisted part of the candy wrappers).

Glue delicious candies together. Stick on each red round white dot and press in the center with a toothpick. Glue triangular pieces on the sides.

Make enough decorative details to fill the entire surface of the Christmas tree, evenly distributing the candies around the circumference at some distance.

Glue all the resulting blanks to the crown. Beautiful New Year's craft it's almost ready. Press down a small lid - a stump - from below (or mold it from plasticine).

And the top is still missing. She just begs to be added to the resulting fairytale Christmas tree. Come up with some option, for example the same spruce branches in combination with red berries. All this looks festive and bright.

This is such a fantastic Christmas tree. This is an elegant version of a craft for the New Year, which will be an excellent gift for your favorite holiday.

The New Year is just around the corner - you need to hurry up to get everything done.

DIY felt Christmas tree

Let's do Christmas trees made of felt - this is excellent Christmas decoration and perfect for school or kindergarten.

Prepare for them:

  • Set of colored felt;
  • cotton wool;
  • glue "Moment" transparent;
  • any beads;
  • threads for knitting and sewing;
  • a needle;
  • scissors;
  • felt-tip pen.

Select matching colors felt. These can be different shades of green. Or you can show your imagination and make an unusual red or blue spruce. Fold a couple of sheets of felt together and draw the shape of a fir tree on the top one.

Cut a piece of felt with a pattern along its entire length and fold it in half as shown in the photo. We do this only if the felt is not very thick, otherwise it will be difficult to cut 4 layers at once.

Cut 4 blanks into shape.

To give them a bulge, put a little cotton wool, as shown in the photo.

Lubricate the edges of the workpiece with glue.

Cut a piece of knitting thread and attach it to the top of the workpiece, directly on the glue. It can be hung from it. Attach the second piece and press along the edge so that both parts stick together.

On a light Christmas tree, make stitches with threads of a darker green color. This will add originality to the craft.

Decorate the second with a border of pearl beads. To do this, make a layer of glue along the edge and place beads on it.

Now let your little one decorate them however he or she wishes. After drying, the craft is ready for use.

Such simple craft will be a great decoration for your Christmas tree. It can be given to grandparents. Older children will be able to do it completely on their own. Using this principle, you can make any felt decorations. Whatever your imagination suggests.

Christmas tree toy made from pasta

New Year is, first of all, an appropriate atmosphere, which creates a certain mood. And an integral part of the New Year's atmosphere is a Christmas tree, which is easy to make with your own hands. In this article we will talk about how to make a beautiful Christmas tree from fabric with your own hands.

How to make a fabric Christmas tree with your own hands

To begin with, the easiest option is to make a Christmas tree out of fabric. We make a cone-shaped base from cardboard or, if possible, buy a ready-made foam base. And then just paste it over it as you please. Different fabrics, threads, ribbons, etc.

Moreover, you can completely cover the base, for example, with burlap as shown below, and glue beautiful lace and buttons on top.

Or you can cut strips from the same burlap and paste them over the base in a spiral or even with threads.

Not bad, one might even say that Christmas trees made from pre-stitched strips of fabric look original.

One of the most spectacular fabric Christmas trees is obtained by using strips of lace fabric, and also, if you decorate it carefully, the result will exceed all expectations.

Speaking of stripes, we must not forget about the tapes; we cut them to the required size and glue them as in the photo. And we admire the original Christmas tree made of ribbons.

In addition, the fabric can be cut differently to produce equally beautiful Christmas trees.

All previous fabric Christmas trees are made on a cardboard base, but you can do without it. As shown below, you get a nice Christmas tree.

Or use a different base.

And finally, when talking about a fabric Christmas tree, you just need to remember that you can sew a Christmas tree. It could be like volumetric Christmas tree medium size and mini Christmas tree - a toy for the Christmas tree. Below are photo examples of how you can sew a Christmas tree with your own hands.

The Christmas tree is an invariable attribute of the New Year. But what if you're against using live trees? Or can’t afford to put up a prickly Christmas tree for some other reason (small children, curious animals...)?

Do you know that a New Year's beauty can be made from... anything. Unlike their natural counterparts, such trees look equally good both on the first day and a week later. And you won’t have to sweep up the falling needles.

In this issue for lovers of DIY creativity, we have included 3 master classes that will teach you how to make such completely non-thorny Christmas trees. Meet fabric Christmas trees:

  • sophisticated white “diva” (from Ikea narrow curtains);
  • as cozy as a pillow (made of burlap and padding polyester);
  • similar to a fashionista's winter wardrobe (made of plaid fabric).

Turn into a New Year's couturier and sew a Christmas tree with your own hands! And we will tell you in detail how to do this.

Scandinavian white Christmas tree from Ikea narrow curtains

Perhaps the easiest option to implement. Creating such a Christmas tree does not require much time, and all materials can be easily found at IKEA. In addition, it is very simple to do - some steps can be entrusted even to children.

Just imagine what a wonderful holiday ritual it is - not just decorating the Christmas tree with the whole family, but doing it together!

Materials and tools:
two white narrow curtains from IKEA (=sheets for Japanese curtains, width 60 cm, height 250 cm) + one bottom rail for each, Snömys curtain decorations (IKEA), silver glossy cardboard (or regular cardboard + silver film with reverse adhesive layer), scissors, rope, ruler, pencil.

How to make a white Scandinavian Christmas tree from fabric with your own hands:

1. Lay the curtains on the floor and secure the bottom rail to each one. Then measure the middle at the top and mark it with a pencil. From this mark, draw two diagonal lines to the corners and cut the curtain. You should get a triangle and two “tails” (you can immediately remove the tails). Repeat the same for the other curtain, using the first piece as a stencil.

2. Fold the first piece in half (crosswise). From the middle, make a cut down towards the tire. But don’t cut all the way through - otherwise the Christmas tree won’t stick.

3. Repeat the same for the second piece, only in reverse - cut from the middle to the top. Unlike the previous one, you need to cut to the edge (to get a triangle with two “tails”).

4. Insert the blanks one into the other, as shown in the photo. You should get a Christmas tree with a cross at the bottom - it will hold the lower part.

5. Now all that remains is to secure the tree to the ceiling. Attach a hook for hanging. Then tie the free ends of the curtains (the same “tails” from the third point) with a rope that you will use to hang them. Make sure that the knot is strong enough and the New Year's beauty will not fall apart.

6. As you know, the Christmas tree should have a beautiful top. This design won't allow you to secure a traditional star, but the top doesn't have to be bare. To decorate it and at the same time hide the knots, make a cone out of silver-plated cardboard. Thread one end of the rope into the hole and secure it to the ceiling.

7. Hang up the decorations and invite your guests to admire the original handmade Christmas tree!

Volumetric soft Christmas tree stuffed with padding polyester or cotton wool

Let's play some association games: Stuffed Toys, Christmas decorations, soft Christmas tree... “What kind of soft Christmas tree?” - you ask. - “There are no such things, all Christmas trees are prickly.”

But that's not all! We invite you to combine incompatible things and make a soft one. christmas tree with your own hands. Lovers of hand-made will certainly appreciate this original decoration. And parents of little ones and owners of furry researchers will certainly appreciate its safety.

Materials and tools:
1.5 m of fabric, 1.5 m of padding polyester or thick cotton wool for filling, paper, a small piece of tree trunk (we will call it “stump” here), sewing machine, needle, thread, scissors, pencil and measuring tape.

How to make a soft fabric Christmas tree with your own hands:

1. Cut out a Christmas tree stencil of the desired size from paper and place it on the wrong side of the fabric. The author got it to be approximately 120 x 70 cm.

2. Trace with a pencil, leaving 5 cm for margin. Cut out, then repeat for the second piece, using the first as a stencil.

3. Sew, leaving a hole of about 50 cm in the middle at the bottom for stuffing. Turn it right out.

4. Now it's time for padding polyester (or cotton wool). Cut out the desired piece from it using a stencil and fill the Christmas tree.

5. And, of course, the tree must have a trunk. Insert the “stump” into the hole, sew, and secure with glue if necessary.

6. The Christmas tree, soft as a pillow, is ready! How to decorate it is a matter of your imagination. The same soft handmade Christmas tree toys are ideal, but any others will do.

Checkered Christmas tree with British chic

Surely you are familiar with the famous British tartan fabrics, which have become the standard good taste- in the wardrobe and in the interior. From them you can make not only a blanket or pillows, but also the main New Year's decoration.

Yes, we are talking about a Christmas tree. Of course, this option is not as simple as the previous ones. But, believe me, the result will certainly satisfy even the most demanding taste!

Materials and tools:
plaid fabric, hanger with crossbar (as in the photo), curtain rings, non-woven fabric, red braid, paper, sewing machine, measuring tape, scissors, pencil.

How to make a Christmas tree from checkered fabric with your own hands:

1. Cut out two identical Christmas tree stencils from paper. Place them on the wrong side of the fabric and trace along the contour with an allowance of 2 cm. Cut out.

2. The same Christmas tree, but without allowance, needs to be cut out of non-woven fabric. Attach to the first piece of fabric, iron to secure.

3. Fold the blanks with the front parts facing each other (the outside will be the wrong side and the non-woven layer). Baste with threads without touching the base (otherwise you won’t be able to turn the fabric out later).

4. Machine sew (again, without touching the hole). Turn it inside out, iron it and sew it completely (we no longer need this hole).

5. All that remains is to hang our tree. To do this, sew loops to each of the branches and insert curtain rings there. And then, using braid, beautifully secure the Christmas tree to the stand. Decorate to your taste, but without excess.
