Applications made from cardboard cotton pads. Crafts from cotton pads, cotton swabs and cotton wool

Cotton pads can be bought in almost any supermarket or pharmacy; almost every woman has them in her cosmetic bag. Have you ever wondered how else, besides their intended purpose, they can be used? We've thought about it and prepared for you small master class, dedicated to the decorative functions of this inexpensive and accessible material.

A basic set of tools that you will need in any case:

  • Several packs cotton pads
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Decorative elements (ribbons, beads, sequins, pendants, etc.)

In addition to this, stock up on thick cardboard, foam plastic, large beads, white thread, sewing pins, toothpicks and paints. All this will be useful to you at certain stages of working on different projects.

Autumn is in full swing, just around the corner New Year, and therefore our master class will be devoted to the most festive decorative elements - Christmas tree and decorations. Let's start with the Christmas tree.

Step-by-step instructions with photos

So, first of all, you need to get some supplies (you will need a lot of them). They are very easy to make - just fold each cotton pad in four, as shown in the picture:

The corners can be fastened with a stapler or thread, whichever is more convenient for you.

Next, using thick cardboard, scissors and glue, we make a cone-shaped base. It is better to paint colored cardboard with white paint. The height of the cone can be any at your discretion. The base must be very stable, so it is better to further strengthen the lower edge with braid or a strip of cardboard glued along the inner circumference.

When the “trunk” dries properly, you need to glue “needles” to it. Let's start from the bottom:

The finished Christmas tree can be decorated with glitter, beads and ribbons. We placed a bright cardboard star on the top:

You can make a star like this. We cut out the blank according to the template and then proceed step by step:

And here is our final version:

By the way, by placing the blanks at different angles, you can get a Christmas tree like this:

Now that you already have a Christmas tree, perhaps you would like to decorate your apartment or office with a few more original holiday accessories? We will be happy to tell you several ways to diversify the usual set of snowflakes and toys with something special.

Master class on creating crafts from cotton pads

Let's take the New Year's (Christmas) wreath as a basis:

To make something like this, you will first need a foam circle (you can also use a round synthetic insulation material). You can look for a ready-made one in stores, or you can cut it out of an ordinary rectangular piece of foam and polish it so that there are no corners left.

We attach quarter-fold cotton pads to the foam base using sewing pins. You can cover only one side if the wreath will hang on the wall, or cover the entire foam in a circle if you plan to hang it, say, on a chandelier:

Don't forget about the ribbon, which will serve as a loop for hanging the finished product:

When the base is ready, simply pin or carefully glue matching decorations on top of the discs.

By the way, to support the theme, some of them can also be made from cotton wool. Let in our case it be an angel - a symbol of Christmas.

Making an angel with your own hands

To make such an angel, divide the cotton pad into two thinner ones:

For beauty, the edges can be trimmed in waves so that they resemble a flower.

Place a round bead in the center of one of the resulting disks, wrap it with thread and straighten the figure so that you get a head and wings:

Now we need a slightly denser body on which all this will rest. We fold the second disk as follows:

In the center of the body you need to place a “leg” made from a regular toothpick and secure it with a drop of glue. To make a hanging figurine, simply attach a string loop to its head (no toothpick needed). Then we glue both parts and decorate the wings using a felt-tip pen:

This angel can be stuck into the foam base of a wreath or used as a decoration for holiday baked goods.

Application

Children love making crafts with their own hands! And every mother is a skilled dreamer in this regard. And when grandiose ideas have already been implemented, improvised materials are used, for example, cotton pads. Cotton wool in general is a very soft and pliable material, from which you can make a lot of interesting elements that are pleasing to the eye and also keep restless children occupied.

In this cotton pad appliqué tutorial you will learn how to make a snowman, a caterpillar, a chicken and a hare. So let's get started!

MATERIALS FOR MANUFACTURING APPLICATIONS FROM COTTON PADS

There is no need to reinvent the wheel for cotton wool crafts; everything you need is always at hand, namely:
  1. Cotton pads
  2. Glue. This can be a glue stick, PVA glue or a glue gun - any method will do, as long as the elements stick together well
  3. Scissors to cut out pieces
  4. Cardboard - the basis for future crafts
  5. Paints. It is preferable to use gouache; these paints are denser and will not lose color over time, unlike watercolors.
  6. Decorative elements to complement the applique. These could be beads, pieces of felt or other fabric, tree branches, and so on.

APPLICATION FROM COTTON PADS: SNOWMAN

In order to make a snowman from cotton pads, you need to take four cotton pads, cardboard for the base, black buttons (three medium and two small), glitter, a piece of orange thick fabric, two small twigs for hands, scissors, paint and glue.

We paint the base cardboard with gouache; the background depends on your imagination. Since a snowman usually consists of three large balls, for the first and largest one we take a whole cotton pad and glue it to the dried background. We cut out the second ball with scissors and make it slightly smaller in diameter than the first, and also glue it, slightly overlapping with the first. And we cut out the third, smallest cotton pad, which forms the head, with a diameter even smaller than the second cotton pad. Glue the disk head to the snowman's body. We press everything carefully, but firmly so that it sticks well to the cardboard.

Now we glue the buttons. Two small buttons act as eyes, and the middle ones act as buttons on the snowman’s body. We glue the branches to the places of the hands. Orange thick fabric roll it into a cone - this will be a carrot nose - and glue it by the bottom to the upper disk. A snowman's hat or bucket can be cut out of black or gray cardboard, or it can be cut out from the remaining cotton pad and, painted black with gouache, glued to the applique.

The remains of cotton pads can be glued to the bottom of our future picture; these will be snowdrifts. Let's complete the craft with decoration: apply sparkles to the snow and to the background; instead of sparkles, you can use beads or small beads.

APPLICATION FROM COTTON PADS: CATERPILLAR

Making a caterpillar from cotton pads is even easier than making a snowman. For the caterpillar you will also need a cardboard base, several cotton pads for the caterpillar's body, black beads or decorative eyes, scissors, glue and paints.

Paint cotton pads green, wait until completely dry. You can also paint the cardboard; you can draw a leaf on it on which the caterpillar will “sit.”

Glue one disc at a time, overlapping with the previous one. We start from the end of the caterpillar, so the last glued disk is the future face of the caterpillar. Glue beads or eyes onto it, draw a mouth and cheeks. Additionally, you will need to cut out small horns and paint them in yellow. Glue them last to the head. The caterpillar made from cotton pads is ready!

APPLICATION FROM COTTON PADS: CHICKENS

To make chickens from cotton pads, you will need the pads themselves, cardboard base, scissors, paints and glue. If you want to decorate the finished painting with decorative elements, this is always at your discretion.

We paint the cardboard in the background colors. For example, it could be a lawn: green grass and blue sky.

Preparing the chickens. We paint two cotton pads yellow, and we also paint two cut out triangular wings yellow. Next, we cut out the scallops and beaks, paint them red, and also cut out the legs and paint them brown.

When the discs and cardboard are dry, you can begin gluing the applique. The bodies go first, then one wing for each chicken. Next we glue the scallops and beaks, and then the paws. The eyes of the chickens can be drawn with paints or a marker, or you can glue black beads or seed beads.

Our chickens are ready!

APPLICATION FROM COTTON PADS: HARE

To make a hare, we need colored cardboard, cotton pads, black beads for the eyes, pieces of blue and red felt, scissors and glue.

Our hare will consist of a body, 2 ears and 4 paws. We will also need to cut out the cheeks (two teardrop-shaped cuts). First, glue the first element onto the cardboard - the body of a hare, a whole cotton pad. Then we glue the face - the disk needs to be cut to make a circle with a slightly smaller diameter than the body. We glue the cheeks to the face, as well as blue eyes, red mouth and nose cut out from pieces of felt. Next, glue on the ears and paws.

In addition, you can cut out a carrot or any other object from the leftover cotton pads, paint it with gouache and glue it to the handle foot.

This is just a small list of ideas that can be realized using only cotton pads, scissors, gouache and glue. Give free rein to your child's imagination and you will see incredible appliqué results!

One of the beneficial materials for hand made work is cotton pads. They absorb paint well, flowers made from them fit perfectly into bouquets that will adequately decorate any postcard.

Crafts made from cotton pads made by the hands of children are especially valuable. An elementary example is the caterpillar, a cheerful, positive character in cartoons and children's books. This is a common appliqué using dyed different colors constituent elements.

You can create entire flower fields from cosmetic cotton pads. One such composition combines both artistic and applied creativity. In addition to cotton pads, you will need a minimum of materials: an A3 sheet, colored paper, glue and paints.

  • First we draw the background (you can simply paint the sheet with blue or blue paint, or you can draw on it additional elements- sun, stars, etc.)
  • Glue the cotton pad together as shown in Figure 2-4.
  • We cut out additional elements from paper (stems, leaves, grass).
  • All that remains is to arrange our flowers beautifully on a piece of paper.

Another option applied creativity- eclectic flowers made from cotton pads. In this case, you don’t even need paper, just paints and glue. Step by step process the creation of such beauty is depicted in Fig. 2-5. To ensure that the paints fall in neat droplets, use a pipette.

Crafts from cotton swabs

If you have faded decorative flowers lying around at home, you can give them a second wind with the help of cotton swabs. Flowers made like this will look much more original than dull fabric inflorescences. We will need:

  • a set of cotton swabs;
  • gouache;
  • stems from old decorative flowers;
  • Super glue.

Take 10-15 cotton swabs (the more there are, the more voluminous the inflorescence will be) and cut in half. Place all the halves with the cotton sides facing up and fold them into a flower shape. Thoroughly coat the place where the stem is attached to the inflorescence with glue and attach our flower to it. Once the glue has dried, you can paint our crafts made from cotton swabs in any color by simply dipping them into the paint.

Another way to make flowers from cotton swabs is to use polystyrene foam balls, which can be purchased at any craft store. The working mechanism is similar: cut cotton swabs in half, stick them into a polystyrene foam ball to make a flower like a dandelion, and dip the ends of the sticks in paint. Twisted wire can be used as stems.

Using the same principle, you can make other crafts from cotton swabs: hedgehogs, the same snowmen, etc.

flower composition

For an older child it will be interesting master class on production flower arrangement, for example, in the form of a bouquet in a basket or in the form of a topiary (this is the word used today for original small trees made by hand). It is always fashionable to give such a gift to your mother on March 8 or her birthday.

For production you will need:

  • cotton pads (the quantity depends on the size of the composition);
  • needle;
  • beads;
  • packaging box for cotton pads;
  • polyurethane foam;
  • glue;
  • a piece of green silk or lining fabric for leaves;
  • stapler

We roll up the cotton pads and secure them into buds, as shown. We put the finished flowers aside and make leaves. They will be located around the perimeter of the vase and will serve as a living pillow for delicate and fragile flowers. The folding sequence for the leaf fabric is shown below.

We fill a jar from under discs (you can use any other one, for example, from under ear sticks) with foam and let it dry. Level the surface of the foam with a knife - make it flush with the edge of the can.

The jar itself can be painted in your favorite colors or decorated using decoupage.

We begin gluing flowers from cotton pads and leaves to the surface of the foam.

The work is ready. Flowers can be made in the form of calla lilies. Then the disks do not need to be completely rolled up, but can be fastened using staples and a stapler.

DIY crafts made from cotton pads can also be timed to coincide with such favorite holidays as New Year and Christmas. Cute airy angels, smoothly descending on threads of rain along the entire perimeter of the decorated room - just such an option. You can use them as Christmas tree decorations, garlands, or simply additions to New Year's gifts.

The manufacturing steps are shown below. By following the basic rules of this simple master class, you can quickly and at minimal cost make your living room intriguing, and the atmosphere of the nursery soft and romantic. Making angels begins with the design of the head and its smooth transition to the body - the dress.

At the end of the work, the head can be decorated with a wreath made of yellow-gold braid, wire, or painted with paint.

New Year's wreath

We have already figured out how to make flowers from cotton pads. Next in line is a chic souvenir, similar in manufacturing method to a flower, but a little more complicated - a floral Christmas wreath. These are often hung on entrance or interior doors, placed above the doorway or on the gate. True, such decoration is more homemade, since it will not withstand precipitation and fluctuations in air temperature.

Assembling the wreath step by step is not difficult, but it must be done carefully and slowly. The same disks bent into four sectors are used as blanks. The corner at the base is chopped off and attached to the main ring. The parts need to be fastened as close to each other as possible. This will create an effect of softness, fullness, and artistic exoticism.

Regarding the mounting plane, it must be remembered that only the front half of the ring should be filled with artificial flowers. The back should be left flat and smooth, since it needs to be in contact with the wall or other surface on which the wreath will be placed.

Once the wreath is ready, we proceed to the loop for fastening. Her appearance should not spoil the impression of the entire product. Therefore, a silk ribbon, folded into a loop and carefully attached with reverse side rings are an ideal option.

The general appearance of the finished product is shown in picture 26, it is very delicate, stylish and soft. An angel will be placed in place inside a wreath of blooming roses. The similarity of the materials used for crafts will give the souvenir the character of a single composition.

Lamb

Working with a child younger age, you can invite him to fantasize, imagine which animal or plant has similar circles in its body. Surely it will be:

  • panda;
  • owl;
  • chicken with chicken after painting the rims yellow;
  • monkey;
  • sunflower.

An interesting craft for a lamb or ewe. For those who are not lazy, it will not be difficult to make a whole herd, decorating them with multi-colored toy accessories. The step-by-step instructions are as follows:

Let's prepare:

  • pieces of felt;
  • threads;
  • stapler;
  • cotton pads;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • twine.

If you don't have colored felt, you can use a special fabric dye.

We start by folding the disk in four and securing the resulting shape with staples. We sew each received element and put them tightly on a silk cord.

To complete the work, we give the lace with strung disks the appearance of a ball. The first stage of work is completed.

All that's left to do is a simple design of the face. For this, the same pieces of felt are used, cut to the shape and size of the intended animal. Here you can play with colors and use materials of the most unexpected colors, the result will be more fun.

If the idea was to make a lamb step by step, we supplement its head with horns made of wire; if it is a sheep, there is no need for them.

Having attached the horns to the head, for example, with plasticine, and also embroidered the eyes and nose with threads or beads, we finish the work. The result is a masterfully executed self made a toy that will look original on a Christmas tree branch, for example.

The figure of a chicken from yellow disks will be obtained by gluing two circles (one slightly larger than the other), depicting the head and torso. The eyes are black beads, the beak is a red triangle.

Christmas card

A holiday card featuring a cheerful snowman is super easy to make! All you need is a sheet of colored paper (preferably blue), cotton pads, glue and markers. Take the largest diameter discs, as they will have to be shortened.

  • Cut out the “body” of the snowman. We only need three discs, two of which need to be shortened to make the snowman look more natural.
  • Glue the disks to the paper (Figure 2).
  • We “revive” the snowman by drawing his face, arms, headdress, etc. It is more convenient to draw on cotton pads with felt-tip pens, although you can also use watercolors or gouache.

You can add some zest to the craft with the help of additional details - nail polish, ribbons, etc. Let your child use his imagination. There is no doubt: the “Snowman” leaflet that the kid created is much nicer to receive than the most expensive New Year’s cards.

Snowman made from paper plates

We offer you a simple and interesting view home decor for New Year's holidays. The materials are the same cotton balls and paper plates for a picnic different sizes. You can decorate the walls with this decor, front door, or make a separate panel.

  • Lay out a snowman from three paper plates, securing them with thin strips of tape (if you are making the composition in the form of a panel, you can use glue).
  • Glue cotton balls to the plates, giving the snowman volume.
  • Make from paper or other available materials New Year's hero eyes, nose, headdress.

Cheerful little penguin

Another idea that even a child can implement. To simplify the work, we have prepared a template that needs to be printed on paper. However, you can use any other penguin drawing you like, or draw it yourself. The principle of making crafts is the same in any case.

We need:

  • printed template;
  • cosmetic cotton balls;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • scraps of black and orange cardboard.

To get started, download and print the drawing template. Then cover the entire white area with glue and carefully place the cotton balls on it, being careful not to go too far beyond the borders. Then cut out the penguin's eyes and beak from cardboard and complete the craft.

In the same way any New Year characters(snowman, Santa Claus, Snow Maiden). The main thing is to find a quality template.

Whether it is souvenirs made only from cotton pads, or crafts from cotton swabs, they carry a charge of positive energy, develop thinking, and contribute to the development of a child’s horizons. Let there be more of them. Let them unite children and make their inner world wider, brighter, more fun.

We read a fairy tale about the Cluttering Fly. How many insects did the hospitable hostess collect to give her tea! Bugs, insects, grasshoppers and a butterfly gathered on the tree. In his work, Korney Chukovsky did not call the butterfly a beauty for nothing. The light winged creature is perfection itself. Today we have a “Butterfly” applique and an answer to the question of how to make a craft from cotton pads.
Children create insect crafts from different materials, in particular, colored paper, fleece patches or chestnuts with nuts. Today we will try to make a butterfly from cotton pads. This is not an applique, but a craft. The heroine will sit on a cocktail tube and decorate a flower pot.

Materials used

  • cotton wool discs;
  • doll eyes;
  • ear stick;
  • glue;
  • scissors;
  • cocktail tube.

Let's start work by designing the oblong body of the craft. Let's do something clever, take scissors and cut two cotton pads into eight parts.

At first we will only need four parts. Lubricate the tops of the triangles with glue and lay out a small Christmas tree out of them. Next, dip a cocktail tube in glue and place it in the center of the resulting figure. Finally, all that remains is to cover the plastic barrel with the same Christmas tree. The body of the butterfly is ready.

To prevent your head from looking huge, you will have to slightly trim the edges of the cotton pad. The main thing is that the hand with the scissors does not shake, otherwise it will be perfect. smooth circle will be problematic. We will need two parts (bottom and top of the tube).

We will make the club-shaped antennae of the butterfly from an ear stick. Cut it in half and slightly bend the cotton ends. Immediately lubricate the antennae with PVA and insert them between the lower and upper halves of the head.

Decorating the wings is quite simple. You need two whole cotton pads and two halves.

At the next stage, carefully glue the wings to the back. The main task here is to make them symmetrical. The butterfly should not look sloppy.

Now let's start decorating the head of the craft. Let's pick a butterfly beautiful eyes and draw a mouth with paints or mom’s varnish. The “Butterfly” craft made from cotton pads is ready. You need to set it aside for a while so that the PVA dries well.

After 10-15 minutes, the insect can be safely stuck into a flower pot. If desired, the wings and belly of the craft are decorated.

Thus, you can make any craft on a corrugated tube: ladybug, bear or fox. Next time we'll definitely try to make something new. What ideas will there be?

Good afternoon Probably, on the eve of the holidays, we are all concerned with one thing, the choice of surprises. Of course, you can buy them, but you must admit, it’s much nicer to make them yourself. Come up with or find a suitable idea and design something unusual. What do you think? Agree, it sounds interesting. But what does it look like? And is there an opportunity to repeat it, embodying the idea in your own creativity? That's what we'll talk about!

New material for crafts - cotton pads

Before we start designing, let's explore a little the capabilities of the new material. Then we will understand what will come out of it best and prepare it most beautiful crafts.

Advantages:

  • Soft. Which means they are safe for kids. You can cut them out, glue them, secure them with a stapler or tape.
  • Thin. Can be folded several times.
  • White. Which means the choice of color is ours! After all, white is easy to paint.

Today we will check all these advantages. And at the same time, let’s see what kind of gift you can prepare with the baby to school.

If you have felt, you can make a wonderful gift

It turns out that crafts made from disks can be beautiful

I will divide this part into 2 topics: flowers and applications. The point is that you will see how much you can come up with on both one and the other topic.

Rose

Each sponge is a petal. The first one we twist. We screw the second and subsequent ones onto the previous ones, slightly bending the upper edge of the disk. Having received a lush bud, we fasten it at the bottom with thread. This bouquet can be presented mom.

Chamomile

It is made in two ways: by cutting out the petals or by tucking both lower edges towards the middle. By collecting several petals around the yellow center you can get a chamomile.

Lily (calla lily)

Let's talk in more detail about this product. For it we will need:

  • Sponge;
  • Cotton swab;
  • Yellow paint;
  • A sheet of paper is green;
  • Cocktail tube.

I will describe the work step by step:

  1. Cut the cotton swab in half.
  2. We color the cotton wool at its end.
  3. Place the stick in the middle of the disk and bend the edges. We glue them.
  4. We secure the cocktail tube like a stem.
  5. Cut out leaves from paper and attach them to the stem.

So you can make a whole bouquet and give it as a gift lilies to all my friends.

Mimosa

But this is a completely different technique. Sponges painted yellow are cut into small pieces and glued to the base. Leaves are added.
I would like to note that any flower can be attached to a stick, cocktail tube or twig. And you get a bouquet. Or you can put it on glue and make beautiful postcard or a picture. This is how we smoothly move on to applications.

Various flowers

Don't forget about mimosas, snowdrops, tulips.

Applications

Number "8". It's easy to do. It is enough to cut out the middle in two sponges. Glue them one above the other. Here's eight!

Caterpillar. Our kids will love every stage of this work.

  • First, you need to decorate each circle. You can wear the same one, but different colors will look more fun.
  • Then glue the sponges, slightly overlapping each other, onto the sheet. Draw eyes, a mouth and antennae on the gosling's head.

Butterfly. There are many options, I will describe the one I liked best. I pinch 4 sponges (wings) a little on one edge and sew them to a strip cut from a disk (the body of the butterfly). I glue 2 halves of a cotton swab (antennae) to the butterfly's head. This craft can be decorated and made elegant before giving it as a gift. girl.

Of course, the list is far from complete. That’s why it’s worth imagining a little yourself!
